As CEO and owner of Myriad Associates Barrie is responsible for overseeing all R&D tax credits claims and R&D grant applications. With over 15 years of experience, Barrie makes it his mission to ensure that every R&D tax claim is maximised and that his clients have the best chance of securing grant funding.
Prior to establishing Myriad, Barrie worked as a hands-on Finance Director for a number of large international manufacturing and engineering businesses. Barrie is a qualified Cost and Management Accountant (CIMA) and Member in Practice (MiP).
When not at work, Barrie enjoys spending time with his family, trying to keep fit and watching motorsports.
David is Technical Consultancy Director for Myriad Associates and his team helps clients achieve their R&D funding by researching and writing technical reports to support R&D tax credit claims and grant applications.
Before joining Myriad, David worked in technical communication roles at various companies across a range of business sectors, and he also has previous management experience in the public and private sectors.
David has an MA in Technical Communication and is a Fellow of the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC). He serves on the ISTC Council and was Chair of the ISTC’s annual Technical Communication UK conference from 2012 to 2015.
Deborah, as Corporate Tax Director provides clients with specialist tax and accounting advice. Her team helps clients achieve their R&D funding by preparing the required financials to support R&D tax relief and grant applications.
Before joining Myriad, Deborah has worked in Accountancy and Finance for over 25 years and worked at various companies from provincial practices to 'Big 4' London firms. She has worked with clients from a range of business sectors advising on both Corporate Tax and Personal Tax for their Directors.
Outside of work, Deborah enjoys spending time with her family and describes herself as a 'foodie'.
Marc is a director of Myriad Consulting in Ireland and is responsible for ensuring the quality and delivery of all grant applications for clients in Ireland, United Kingdom, mainland Europe and the United States.
Marc has an enviable track record in securing public funding for SMEs, Universities and large enterprises over the last 15 years. However, since 2015 Marc has concentrated on working within the Irish market, specifically within Medtech, Pharmaceuticals and GreenTech. During this time, Marc has won over €15m in funding for Irish clients.
When not in work, Marc loves cycling and trying to persuade his wife and children to move to Galway…it's not going well.
Fanny is responsible for the daily operation of the company and for overseeing all internal functions.
Prior to working at Myriad Associates, Fanny launched an on-line retail business and held senior positions in operations, purchasing and sales.
Outside work, Fanny enjoys renovating properties and spending time with her family.
Helen specializes in creating and analysing costing schedules for our clients’ R&D tax credits claims, and undertakes back-office research to support our technical consultants. She also carries out various business support functions.
Helen began her career as a computer programmer in the Market Research industry. After some time writing software to collect and process research data she moved into a more client centred role, designing research projects and interpreting the results. She worked in many different industry sectors including transport, retail, food and drink, banking and insurance and in many different countries in Europe, Asia, Australia and South America.
Outside of work Helen likes to run, cycle, swim, walk, read, and listen to music - whenever she's not ferrying her two boys around to their many activities. Helen has also helped organise one of the UK’s largest off-road charity cycle events for the last eight years.
Lauren Olson joined the Myriad Associates team as a Technical Consultant in February 2016 and was promoted to the position of Senior Technical Consultant in May 2018. In this role she helps clients achieve their R&D funding by preparing technical reports to support R&D tax credit claims.
Before joining Myriad, Lauren worked in technical communication and consulting roles at various software companies. She is a member of the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC).
Outside of work, Lauren reads, knits, swims, listens to podcasts, and spends a lot of time outside walking with her dog.
Chris helps Myriad’s clients identify opportunities for public funding, including R&D Tax Relief, Video Games Tax Relief and R&D grant funding to establish which projects are likely to qualify, before handing over to Myriad’s highly skilled team of financial and technical experts.
Prior to joining Myriad, Chris was a Managing Director within the UK’s largest independent recruitment group. Chris specialised in senior level appointments up to C-suite level. He also supervised the design and delivery of technology based solutions to improve the recruitment work flow. His work involved introducing more efficient and effective ways of managing large volumes of data, along the way producing ground breaking and ICT award winning solutions.
Outside work, Chris has a genuine passion and enthusiasm for technology, is a keen badminton player, and likes taking his family on impromptu bike rides.
As a Corporate Tax Associate, Kelsey helps clients to achieve their R&D funding by preparing the required financials to support R&D tax relief and grant applications.
Before joining Myriad, Kelsey worked in a top 20 accountancy firm dealing with both corporate and personal tax, she now specialises in R&D. Kelsey has achieved a first class honours degree in Accounting and Finance and became ATT qualified earlier this year.
Outside of work, Kelsey enjoys keeping fit by boxing and going to the gym. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Cale is our go-to guy for Marketing here at Myriad. Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, Cale has been in the UK for 5 years and brings a strange accent to the team and an even stranger word for a BBQ…….or “Braai” as he calls it.
Before joining Myriad, Cale was a Marketing Assistant for a global business intelligence software, specialising in business intelligence software for manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers. His work involved coordinating and executing customer training days, tradeshows, campaigns and much more.
Outside work, Cale likes to keep fit by going to cricket, boxing and the gym. He is also a lifelong learner and enjoys reading books, blogs and listening to podcasts that can help him optimise his work and life.
Alison joined the team in September 2016. Her role is to help clients obtain R&D funding by preparing technical reports to support their R&D tax credit claims.
During a varied career, Alison has worked for organisations of very different sizes - from small start-ups to international corporations - where her communication skills have been used in everything from developing user guides to writing and compiling complex technical bids.
Alison has an MA in Technical Communication and is a Fellow of the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC), where she is currently the President.
Warren is a Technical Consultant for Myriad Associates, helping clients produce clear and accurate technical reports to support R&D tax credit claims and grant applications.
Warren has been involved in technical communication for the past 20 years. Warren has an MA in Education and is currently completing a degree in computer science and engineering. He is a member of the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC) and writes articles relating to technology and technical communication.
